What is the purpose of a liquidation strategy?
- A liquidation strategy allows you to define the order in which accounts are liquidated to fund your clients' retirement goal.
- NaviPlan implements the automatic account redemption strategy on December 31 of each year of retirement. The process begins with the reallocation of any surpluses followed by the liquidation of accounts.
Procedures
How do I define the liquidation order in retirement?
- Go to the Liquidation Order tab (Set Goals section - Retirement category - Liquidation Strategies button).
- For <client> and <co-client>, use the Calendar to enter the minimum age when registered assets can be redeemed.
- To redeem assets by account type only, select one of the existing liquidation options.
OR
To view and edit the order of specific accounts, select View/Modify Liquidation Order, and use the Move Up and Move Down arrows to customize the redemption order.
- When you are satisfied with these options, click OK.
How do I define redemptions of specific dollar values (or percentages)?
- Go to the Redemptions tab (Set Goals section - Retirement category - Liquidation Strategies button).
- Select an account, and click Add Redemption Strategy.
- Enter an Amount, Frequency, Start Date, and End Date for the redemption strategy.
Note: Instead, you can redeem the entire account by selecting the Redeem All option.
- When you are satisfied with these options, click OK.
