Annuities

• NaviPlan allows you to enter existing annuities, future annuities, as well as guaranteed withdrawal benefits in a Level 1 or Level 2 plan.
• You cannot combine registered and non-registered holdings within the same annuity.
• You cannot combine annuity subaccounts owned by different people within the same annuity.

Note: Savings strategies can be setup either when entering an annuity, or at a later time.

1. Under Guaranteed Withdrawal Benefit, click to the right of the annuity.
2. Go to the Savings Strategy tab.
3. Click Add Savings Strategy.
4. Enter the contribution amount and frequency.
   • You can enter either dollar amounts or percentages here. However, dollar values of 25 or less need to be entered with a dollar sign ($), or else NaviPlan will interpret them as percentages.
   • For certain registered annuities, you can enter max in the appropriate Salary field to have the employee contribute the maximum allowed amount.
5. Enter the strategy's start and end date.
6. To index the strategy at the rate of inflation, select Infl. To index at a greater or lesser rate, select Infl and enter a different percentage into the +/- Add'l field.
   Note: Infl is inaccessible when a percentage of salary is entered.
7. When you are satisfied with these options, click OK.

1. Click for the appropriate annuity.
2. Deselect the Autofund option.
3. Click on the Asset Transfers tab that appears next to Payout Options.
4. Select the asset(s) you wish to fund the annuity with from the Choose Source Account menu.
5. Click Add Transfer Strategy.
6. Enter in the amount you wish to transfer in the Transfer Amount Field.

Guarantee Fee

• Fee that is paid based on the cost basis of annuity on Jan 1 of the following year.

Reset Feature

• Calculates a new payout amount based on the annuities growth rate during the payout phase.
  

Note: By checking the Reset Feature option NaviPlan assumes the annuity is a Guaranteed Minimum Withdrawal Benefit (GMWB). If it is unchecked NaviPlan assumes the annuity is a Guaranteed Lifetime Withdrawal Benefit (GLWB) and payout amounts are based on the Current Benefit Base field and Benefit Base Growth Rate field.

• The Assumed Interest Rate applies to the annuity after the annuity begins to pay out.
